AB 1825 E-Learning Compliance

AB 1825 is in effect.. All sexual harassment training conducted after this date must comply with the new requirements. See the AB 1825 Compliance Checklist.

Chrome Zebra meets and/or exceeds all requirements of this law.

(1b) E-learning -- individualized, interactive, computer-based training that:

a. is written, developed, and approved by an instructional designer, qualified trainer or subject matter expert.

b. provides a link or directions on how to contact the trainer directly who, either works for the employer or retained by the e-learning provider. The trainer must be able to answer questions and provide guidance and assistance on the training issues within a reasonable time, but no more than two business days after the question.

  • Personnel can post questions to a monitored discussion board. A response is generated within 24 hours or less.
  • Click a Get Help Now button provides an email request form that receives a response within 12 hours. 
  • Responses are provided by an on-call attorney with expertise in employment law.

(2a) Subject Matter Expert (SME): is an individual who has legal education coupled with practical experience, or substantial practical experience in training in harassment, discrimination and retaliation prevention.

(2b) Instructional Designer (online course): is an individual with expertise in current instructional best practices, and who develops the training content based upon material provided by a Subject Matter Expert.

3. Training Duration   

(3b) E-learning: The training must take the supervisor no less than two hours to complete the training. It does not have to be completed in two consecutive hours. The student can pause and return without any minimum, provided the actual e-learning program is two hours.

  • Chrome Zebra courses track each participant’s actions in the 2 hour course. 
  • The participant can start and stop the course anytime and the cumulative time is recorded.  In addition the participant is reminded of where he/she left off the training. Once the participant has completed the course a certificate is generated. 
  • This certificate contains the employee name, exam score (if applicable), date, and certificate number and instructional designer name.

  • The course contains assessment modules throughout the course to gauge learning.  In addition, an employer can elect to use a final exam at the end of the course. 
  • Employees participate in problem solving and skill building activities, games, simulations, video and text scenario solutions, and content is delivered verbally, texturally, and graphically, ensuring that all learning styles are supported.

    • Chrome Zebra provides a Certificate of Completion containing the required elements.  See (3b) above. 
    • A record of the employees’ participation and time in the course is also provided.
